Today I’d like to announce Homebrew 2.6.0. The most significant changes since 2.5.0 are macOS Big Sur support on Intel, brew
commands replacing all brew cask
commands, the beginnings of macOS M1/Apple Silicon/ARM support and API deprecations.
The Great Nebraska BrewBash is a true regional beer fest in that we're drawing in never-before-seen brewers and their beers to join us, but this year we're taking it a step further. This year we are adding many more exciting events and activities including:. Free vendor area with tons of local businesses that is open to the public. Venice Brew Bash - Home Come join us back at Centennial Park, 200 West Venice Avenue, Venice, FL and celebrate the suds from 3 - 7 pm. Sample over 60 different craft and import brews. This event is the perfect opportunity for beer aficionados, beer lovers or just the casual beer drinker. Eventbrite - Historic Cocoa Village Main Street presents Cocoa Village Brewer's Bash - Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Cocoa Riverfront Park, Cocoa, FL. Find event and ticket information. You need to be at our inaugural Cocoa Village Brewer's Bash destined to become the premier Brew Fest on Florida's Space Coast! You can use the bash -version command or the environment variables $BASHVERSINFO and $BASHVERSION. The $BASHVERSINFO variable is a bash array which contains the major, minor, patch, and build numbers of the currently running Bash instance. Homebrew comes with completion definitions for the brew command. Some packages also provide completion definitions for their own programs. Zsh, bash and fish are currently supported. You must then configure your shell to enable its completion support.
Major changes and deprecations since 2.5.0:
- macOS Homebrew running natively on M1/Apple Silicon/ARM has partial functionality. We recommend installing into
/opt/homebrew
and forbid installing into/usr/local
(to avoid clashing with the macOS Intel install and allow their usage side-by-side). We currently recommend running Homebrew using Intel emulation with Rosetta 2. brew tap-new
will set up GitHub Actions workflows toupload to GitHub Releases. Read the blog post for more documentation.
Other changes since 2.5.0 I’d like to highlight are the following:
Finally:
- Discourse and IRC are now deprecated as official communication methods in favour of GitHub Discussions.
- Homebrew accepts donations through GitHub Sponsors and still accepts donations through Patreon. If you can afford it, please consider donating. If you’d rather not use GitHub Sponsors or Patreon (our preferred donation methods), check out the other ways to donate in our README.
